Sony: Rational Consumers Know That Buying Digital Games Does Not Mean Owning Them!

Al-Taj News – Sony Interactive Entertainment is currently facing a lawsuit filed by a group of players, alleging that the PlayStation Store does not clearly inform players that purchasing digital games means obtaining a license to play them rather than actually owning them.

According to media reports, Sony’s response filed with the court regarding the lawsuit stated that the company does in fact inform consumers that purchasing a digital product means obtaining a license to play it. It added that rational consumers already know this without having to be informed of it, and that purchasing a digital copy of Resident Evil Requiem, for example, does not mean that you own it in a way that prevents other players from purchasing a digital copy of the same game.
